The World AI Script Festival was born out of a reality that screenwriters know all too well: writer’s block is the biggest obstacle to creativity. AI doesn’t eliminate this obstacle—it helps screenwriters overcome it. Just as word processors replaced typewriters without killing literature, AI is now a writing partner that amplifies the author’s voice without ever replacing it. Our mission is to showcase screenwriters who dare to explore this new narrative territory—those who understand that behind every prompt, behind every generated line of dialogue, there is a human intention, a worldview, and a story that belongs only to them.

A direct subsidiary of the World Film Festival in Cannes – Remember the Future, founded by filmmaker Karolina Bomba—the world’s first festival to have awarded prizes to AI-generated works as early as 2020—the World AI Script Festival is part of a pioneering ecosystem where innovation in the service of human storytelling is not only recognized but encouraged. Our belief is simple: technology is only as valuable as the vision of the person holding it in their hands. AI breaks down the boundaries of what is possible: a lone writer, without a network or a development budget, can now bring to life narrative worlds of unparalleled richness. The limit is no longer the means—it is the imagination.

We expect every screenwriter to ensure that their work clearly reflects their creative process: project overview, narrative intent, and the role of AI in the writing process. An author who has mastered their tool also knows how to articulate their vision.

An international jury composed of screenwriters, directors, producers, literary editors, and creative writing experts evaluates each script based on criteria of excellence: narrative originality, consistency of the storyworld, mastery of the format, strength of the dialogue, and transparency of the creative process. The winners are honored at the annual World AI Script Festival ceremony in Cannes—the very place where some of the greatest stories in world cinema first saw the light of day.
